Under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, and following up on His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the ruler in the Dhafra area, President of UAE Red Crescent Authority.
The Red Crescent Authority oversees the transfer of such assistance, which benefits more than 140 thousand affected and displaced beneficiaries in a number of Sudanese states most affected by the consequences of the disaster, such as River Nile State, Khartoum State and Al Jazeera State.
Assistance includes some 10 thousand tents, 28,000 food and health parcels, 120 tons of diverse shelter items and urgent relief materials to contribute to supporting the affected population and victims' families, improving their living conditions and supporting Sudanese efforts and relevant institutions to contain and mitigate the crisis.
The State departed the first airlift aircraft carrying 30 tons of miscellaneous shelter materials, followed by 3 others, respectively. The delegation of UAE Red Crescent, which is currently on the Sudanese scene, receives them to provide support and support to those affected and oversee the Authority's several-day relief programme.
To date, large quantities of humanitarian needs have been distributed from local markets there.
