The third aid plane from UAE air bridge to help the victims of the floods in Sudan has arrived at Khartoum airport. The plane is carrying aid provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, which includes 15 tons of basic foodstuffs and 15 tons of materials and medical supplies for relief of those affected by the floods that hit parts of the country. The Sudanese Minister of Social Development praised the continuation of UAE air bridge to help Sudan in this difficult stage, conveying the thanks of the leadership and people of Sudan to UAE leadership and the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
For his part, the Sudanese Minister of Health in charge of the medical support provided by UAE within the air bridge, indicating that this support constitutes a great support for the efforts of the Ministry of Health to combat the health effects of torrential rains.
UAE ambassador to Sudan said that UAE's response to helping the brothers in Sudan came in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, and in the context of UAE and its people's solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese people in facing these circumstances.
He explained that the relief aid aims to support the efforts made by the sisterly Sudanese government and the relevant institutions in containing the humanitarian repercussions, adding that this aid and the quick response by the leadership came as an affirmation of the depth and strength of brotherly relations, as it falls within the framework of UAE policy and its civilized humanitarian message based on Extending a helping hand to the affected communities through relief and humanitarian programs and projects.
